The Sandwich Country Angler
Four Seasons of activities:
We are not just a fly fishing destination.
We offer our accommodations to anglers and non-anglers alike.
Come and enjoy summer hiking, fall foliage, spring wildlife watching (watch the muddy roads), winter cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or downhill skiing. (Even a little ice fishing can be arranged). Sandwich, NH and the White Mountains offer something for everyone year round.
Autumn
The Sandwich Fair, one of the oldest agricultural country fairs in New Hampshire is held every Columbus Day weekend in October. During one of the most beautiful times of the year, at the height of the fall foliage season, our fair provides fun and entertainment for all ages. Come join the festivities and experience traditional horse and oxen pulling, 4-H competitions and many other exhibits.
Autumn brings an abundance of incredible colors as the New England foliage peaks and visitors enjoy this beautiful season. This sets the scene for hiking, biking, strolling or any activity on any New England fall day.
Winter
In the winter, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or skating are wonderful ways to fill a snowy day. We are also in a great location for ice fishing.
Spring
This is the best time of the year for trophy trout and salmon fishing on the big lakes.
The ritual of tapping maple trees and boiling the sap into maple syrup can be seen all around.

Summer
Warm summer days in New Hampshire can be spent kayaking, fishing, swimming or boating on the lakes. There are great opportunities for hiking or biking. You can also visit any of New Hampshire’s major attractions many of which are less than an hour away.
The 1981 film On Golden Pond was filmed on Squam Lake. There are two tour boat outfits on the lake, both based in Holderness, that will show visitors where all the filming locations are situated.
Squam Lake is a nesting site for Common Loons.
